Geraldo de Barros (1923-1998) was one of the greatest representatives of modernism in Brazil. He embraced the principles of the Higher School of Design in Ulm (Germany) which he attended for a short period in the early 1950s, he then brought this acquired knowledge to South America and encouraged many of his colleagues to join the concrete art movement. He cultivated contacts with the European artistic vanguard and, in Brazil, he was a pioneer, experimenting with new trends, such as pop art. Geraldo de Barros: Isso presents an overview of the artist's life and work, organized chronologically and covering all aspects of his artistic production with a focus on photography.
