JORGE ZALSZUPIN: MODERN DESIGN (2014)

MARIA CECILIA LOSCHIAVO
SÃO PAULO, 2014

Publisher: Olhares
Building: Hardback
Language: Portuguese

Jorge Zalszupin was a visionary designer, studied architecture in Romania. His work has not been given the credit his avant-garde ideas are worthy. The author Maria Cecilia Loschiavo obstructs this implication and has thus written a detailed edition of the entire work of a Brazilian icon of design. Zaslzupin led a unique initiative; coordinated a team of designers who worked for four different factories in the same business group, the Forsa group. This is a rare and perhaps unique experience in the world. The author explains the origins of his classic designs, such as the Danish armchair, Paulistano and other furniture, which today are reproduced by the Etel Carmona carpentry. This book is an indispensable work for all students and lovers of Brazilian furniture design.
