About
The Park Lamp, designed in 2024 by Thomas Takada, extends the artist’s exploration of landscape-based assemblage into a vertical, architectural format. Conceived in Paris, the piece draws directly from the materials and atmosphere of urban green spaces, translating them into a functional yet poetic object.
Composed of leaves, branches, and stone, the lamp integrates natural elements within a minimal structural logic, enhanced by the presence of electrical components that activate the composition through light. The illumination reveals textures, irregularities, and subtle tonal variations, transforming organic fragments into a quietly expressive surface.
With its tall and slender proportions, the work evokes the presence of a tree or a fragment of landscape transposed into an interior setting. This verticality reinforces the dialogue between nature and constructed space, a recurring theme in Takada’s practice.
Balancing fragility and structure, the Park Lamp embodies a sensibility that is both ecological and contemplative. It invites a reconsideration of everyday surroundings, encouraging a more attentive and intuitive relationship with the materials that shape our environment.
