Biography
Umberto Riva is an Italian architect and designer who was born in Milan in 1928. Riva studied at the Politecnico di Milano, where he later went on to teach as a professor of design.
Throughout his career, Riva has worked in a variety of fields, including architecture, interior design, furniture design, and product design. His work is characterized by its simplicity, elegance, and attention to detail, and he is known for his ability to create harmonious and balanced spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Riva has collaborated with many notable architects and designers over the years, and his work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and publications. Some of his most notable projects include the renovation of the Palazzo Branciforte in Palermo, the design of the interior of the Museo d'Arte Contemporanea di Villa Croce in Genoa, and the design of the Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan.
In addition to his architectural and interior design work, Riva has also designed a wide range of furniture and home accessories, including chairs, tables, lamps, and textiles.
