Biography
Tito Agnoli (1931 – 2012) was an Italian-Peruvian designer renowned for his work in the field of furniture design. Born in Lima, Peru, Agnoli had a rich cultural heritage, being of Italian descent. In the late 1940s, he moved to Italy, where he studied at the Milan Polytechnic under prominent architects like Gio Ponti and Carlo De Carli. His early background in architecture laid a strong foundation for his approach to industrial design.

Agnoli became famous for his minimalist and functional approach, avoiding unnecessary ornamentation in favor of sleek lines and practical design. His collaborations with renowned Italian furniture companies such as Poltrona Frau, Cassina, and Oluce led to the creation of timeless pieces, particularly in lighting and seating design. Some of his most notable works include the "9000" sofa for Arflex and various lighting fixtures for Oluce, which are still considered icons of Italian design.

Agnoli was nominated for the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award several times throughout his career, cementing his place as a key figure in post-war Italian design. He continued to work prolifically until his passing on February 2, 2012. Today, his designs remain highly sought after, symbolizing a blend of modernist aesthetics and functionality.
