About
The Blackberry Glasses are the result of a collaboration between designer Paul Bonlarron and glassblower Chloé Lorong, whose expertise in hand-blown glass brings the designer's playful compositions to life. Conceived as edible-looking objects, each piece evokes the texture of sparkling blackberries, the warm amber tones of caramel and the swirling form of traditional confectionery, transforming functional drinking vessels into sculptural compositions.
Entirely hand-blown, the glasses celebrate the expressive qualities of glass through subtle variations in colour, transparency and form. Their organic silhouettes highlight the dialogue between contemporary design and artisanal craftsmanship, where each object retains the individuality of its making while belonging to a coherent family of forms.
Balancing utility with poetic expression, the Blackberry Glasses reflect Bonlarron's interest in creating objects that stimulate both visual and tactile perception. Drawing inspiration from the language of food, nature and ornament, the series invites a renewed appreciation of everyday rituals through material experimentation and meticulous craftsmanship.

Biography
Paul Bonlarron is a French designer and graduate of ENSCI–Les Ateliers, whose practice explores the relationship between ornament, craftsmanship and contemporary collectible design. His work is distinguished by a rich visual language, where vibrant colours, poetic forms and historical references converge to create objects that balance functionality with imagination.
Drawing inspiration from the history of the decorative arts—particularly Rococo ornamentation, Renaissance cabinets of curiosities and secret cabinets—Bonlarron reinterprets these traditions through contemporary materials, experimental techniques and conceptual narratives. His projects frequently investigate perception, illusion and the emotional resonance of objects, transforming furniture and scenography into immersive spatial experiences.
In 2022, Bonlarron received the Mobilier National Design Parade Toulon Prize, which led to a nine-month residency at the Atelier de Recherche et de Création (ARC) of the Mobilier National in Paris. During this residency, he developed The Cabinet of Mirages, a monumental cabinet inspired by Renaissance curiosity cabinets, together with the immersive scenography The Secret Garden of Bleu Chardon. Both projects explore changing textures, optical illusions and shifting perspectives, inviting visitors to engage with objects through movement, reflection and discovery.
Working across furniture, lighting, scenography and collectible objects, Bonlarron collaborates closely with exceptional artisans to celebrate traditional craftsmanship while embracing contemporary experimentation. Guided by curiosity as the driving force of his creative process, his work proposes poetic environments where design becomes a medium for storytelling, wonder and sensory exploration.
