Ingo Maurer, (b. 1932, Reichenau, Germany - d. 2019, Munich, (Germany) born in Reichenau, Germany, on May 12, 1932, was a groundbreaking German industrial designer and lighting artist. Founder of "Ingo Maurer GmbH" in Munich, he revolutionized lighting design, merging functionality with artistic brilliance.
Maurer's iconic "Bulb" series transformed the commonplace light bulb into a sculptural masterpiece. Notable works include the innovative "YaYaHo" lighting system and the poetic "Porca Miseria!" chandelier, showcasing his penchant for blending humor and technology.
