FIREWORKS

MILAN
SALONE MOBILE
APR 04 2017 - APR 09 2017

Fireworks a collection of five screens created by Muller Van Severen and manufactured by Emaillerie Belge ran for the whole of Milan design week in 2017. The show was exhibited in a fabulous location within a building know as the “Kermlin”. Close to the Politecnico University, the headquarters of the architectural firm Binocle, who hosted the show.

"Their practice explores a sense of verticality and they have conceived these works as abstract compositions that relate directly to space"

The screens, composed of varying shapes and heights, curves and bends were formed from metal coated enamel. The pieces were constructed with the intention to define space. Fireworks is a chapter in the ongoing research of Muller Van Severen’s investigation of the interactions between space and the objects that occupy it. Their practice explores a sense of verticality and they have conceived these works as abstract compositions that relate directly to space. The shape of the paravent is untarnished and essential; each reveals a meticulous quest for details and an ongoing fascination with artisan processes.
