BRASILIA
ESPLANADA DOS MINISTÉRIOS
APR 17 1994 - MAY 27 2018

Three designers who flourished in the mid-twentieth century were the focal point of the exhibition: Sergio Rodrigues, Joaquim Tenreiro and Bernardo Figueiredo. The collection of works brought together objects belonging to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, used in the receptions of foreign heads of states and international negotiations.

"The collection of works brought together objects belonging to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, used in the receptions of foreign heads of states and international negotiations"

On a tour that goes from the eighteenth to the twentieth century, the journey was composed of sections such as in the reconstruction of the cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, as designed by architect Sérgio Rodrigues in 1967; a timeline with the history of furniture in Brazil since the eighteenth century, with original pieces; Bernardo Figueiredo's palatial and user-friendly furniture; art deco rugs illustrated with indigenous themes by Fernando Correia Dias; Livius Levi's light design; and the first computer, acquired in the 1970s.
