Biography
BBPR, founded in 1932 and active until 1970, was an Italian architectural firm known for its innovative and modernist designs. The acronym BBPR stands for the initials of its founding members: Gian Luigi Banfi, Lodovico Barbiano di Belgiojoso, Enrico Peressutti, and Ernesto Nathan Rogers. The studio became a beacon of architectural and interior design, intertwining art with function. BBPR's philosophy revolved around the concept of "architecture as a public service," which they applied not only to buildings but also to interior spaces and art galleries. Their holistic approach to design continues to influence contemporary architects and designers, ensuring their legacy in both fields.
